Gerald G St. Louis , MO August 05, 2019 Appliance: Model KENMORE MODEL 790.80363310 Microwave blew line fuse It took a long time to determine the problem but eventually I discovered that the plastic bracket (latch hook) that held the three door-switches showed appreciable wear from repeated door openings and closings. This wear stopped the door from sealing properly and the door switch safety mechanism blew the line fuse. I replaced the worn bracket (AP6230612) as well as the plastic latch mechanism (AP4553585) on the door that engages this bracket (and of course the fuse too) and the microwave now works properly. Nesbert I Summerville , SC December 23, 2019 Microwave was tripping circuit breaker. I ordered these parts. Found the latch was worn from use of opening and closing the door. Also replaced switches as one would stick sometimes. Put back together works like a charm. Also you don't have to remove microwave from wall to fix and while in there check fuse. Make sure to unplug before working on it. Read More... 7 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers

Randall W Portland , OR February 27, 2020 Appliance: Frigidaire Microwave Oven FFMV164LSA Microwave oven tripping circuit breaker I have previously replaced two of the three door interlock switches and realized the wear on the 'latch' and 'latch hook' were making the switches burn out by not letting them open/close fully (we use our microwave a lot). I ordered these two parts, replaced them, and problem solved. The latch hook is relatively easy to replace, although moving it around the wires getting it in and out is somewhat tedious. Take pictures of all the connectors before you unplug them. Removing the bottom switch actuator from the old latch hook meant breaking the plastic clip holding it in place. There may be a way to avoid breaking it but since the old latch hook is likely unusable, I wasn't that concerned. The latch was another problem due to the lack of information available on how to remove the bezel on the inside of the door. After some careful prying around the edges it popped out. Then the inner frame had to be removed to gain access to the latch. This required overcoming multiple clips, posts and a couple of screws to release this frame/window. At this point the latch is easily replaced as was putting the door back together (don't forget the screws). That was it.
