Microwave Bracket & Flange

Needed installation parts. I ordered the parts from the company I purchased the appliances from. A week went by and no parts, called, emailed and called again to find out when the parts would arrive to be able to Re-schedule the installation. This damper was added to the outside vent duct line as an additional block against outside air intrusion. Under spousal orders I had just changed the microwave vent to the outside (the proper way to go, but much more difficult to accomplish) but then there was some "flowback" when the wind was pressing against the back of the house (westward facing), and I was ordered to reduce this flow before the winter arrived in full force. It took a long time to determine the problem but eventually I discovered that the plastic bracket (latch hook) that held the three door-switches showed appreciable wear from repeated door openings and closings. This wear stopped the door from sealing properly and the door switch safety mechanism blew the line fuse. I replaced the worn bracket (AP6230612) as well as the plastic latch mechanism (AP4553585) on the door that engages this bracket (and of course the fuse too) and the microwave now... Read more

Ordered new switches (replaced all three- upper and lower door switches and switch monitor- just to make everything new). Received them within 48 hours! You tube video enabled replacement job to be completed by handyman neighbor in 20 minutes (would have been shorter repair time but for my kibitzing). Appliance Parts Pros gets an A+! • Door stuck closed

Turn off breaker, remove all screws { 4 on mine } inside oven door holding oven and microwave to kitchen cabinet and slide oven assembly out of cabinet {on to a temporary shelf of {4} 5 gallon buckets/plywood/bricks/shims that I made on the floor atop a scrap of carpet} just enough to access the side and rear screws of microwave's protective metal housing, then remove a total of 16 screws { there were 2 screws just inside top of "opened" microwave door that were holding top flat silver metal... Replaced damaged switch but in the meantime broke part of the board latch. So, replaced that too. Read more

We isolated the problem via YouTube videos to a faulty switch. We broke a piece of the switch holder when removing the switch and had to also order that part in addition to a new switch. Once everything was reassembled, the microwave worked again! Read more

Replaced lower door interlock bracket, cam(which was redesigned), spring(I believe this was the problem) and switch. When the door opens the spring moves the cam which releases the switch"on" Button which turns on the interior light when you close the door, the latch which protrudes out from door pushes into the cam which rotates to turn off the light switch and enables operation of the microwave. Old design cam would push past the light switch and the weakened spring would not push it back... Read more

This was much easier than I expected. First and foremost discharge the capacitor, google has the instructions. The diagnosis was also easy, really just 3 parts, the Magnetron, the Capacitor, and the Diode. With a simple multimeter measuring the resistance I was able to determine the Magnetron had shorted out and the diode was bad. I replaced all three components which fixed my issue. Read more
