The Damper is an OEM part for Frigidaire microwaves. This part regulates airflow within the microwave, ensuring that steam and odors are properly vented out during cooking.

Causes of a bad damper can include wear and tear over time, buildup of grease and debris, or damage from high temperatures.  

Symptoms of a bad Damper include:

• Poor ventilation during cooking, leading to lingering odors and steam
• The microwave overheating or not ventilating properly
• Unusual noises coming from the damper area
• The damper not opening or closing as it should

This damper assembly controls airflow between the freezer and refrigerator compartments to help maintain even temperatures. Replaces a faulty damper to restore proper cold-air distribution and reduce temperature imbalances. What it does:

• Opens and closes to regulate cold air flow from the freezer into the fresh-food compartment.
• Commonly used when the refrigerator section is too warm while the freezer remains cold.

• Works with the fridge's control system to modulate compartment temperatures.

This damper assembly controls airflow for the exhaust vent, opening with the blower and closing when off to block backdrafts. Replace a cracked, missing, or sticking damper to restore proper venting and reduce noise and drafts.

• Reuse existing screws and seals; replace any damaged foil tape or gaskets to prevent leaks
• After installation, run the fan to ensure the damper opens/closes smoothly without rattling
