Frigidaire Microwave Door

Found the door easier to work on if it was removed from the microwave oven. That's easy - just lift and pull off. With the door flat on a table, took it apart, per a YouTube file. A broad knife putty knife (and a gentle touch) are critical. Unscrewed the "crumbs" of the failed handle. Reused the original screws (rather than the longer screws that came with the replacement handle). Attached the new handle. Put the door back together. Clicked the door back on the microwave. Orderjust the door frame, $150 NOT door assembly $257. Remove the plastic cover inside the door(used a small thin chisel) It just snaps out, no screws. Start at the opening by the hinge. Then lift the door off, it is just resting on the hinges, no screws. Lay the door down and removed ALL parts. (The handle unscrews, the fridgedaire emblem was stuck on, just use a thin chisel, unscrew the metal seal inside the door and the latch and spring are already loose because the hook on the door broke)... The door was very simple to change out. I removed the 2 screws on top of the microwave and pulled the piece above the door down and out. There are tabs on the bottom of this piece that hold it in place along with the screws on top. After this was out of the way, changing the door was as simple as lifting up on the door and when the top peg was clear lean it out slightly to get the bottom peg out. Read more

Microwave door replacement for Model: GLMMV169DBC To attach the new door you will need to pop the corner of the plastic framing loose where the top hing is being inserted then it will go into place. The new door does not have separate piece at the top hing like the original. I had replaced the door handle serveral months eariler.
