Matthew P Dothan , AL January 22, 2016 E58 error code Tested the resistance of the motor windings. They showed around 2.5 ohms. This proved that the motor was bad. The new motor showed around 3.5 ohms. I installed it back in place and the washing machine worked fine. Gregg S Georgetown , KY October 02, 2019 Appliance: Kenmore Washer 41741100000 My KenmoreElite washer wasn't spinning at appropriate times during various cycles kept giving me the "srv cll" message on the display Since I hadn't found the Tech Sheet for the washer (which there should be one inside the top cover) I simply thought I'd buy the drive motor (and a new belt, a.k.a "cheap insurance"). Installed the motor once I'd received it from AppliancePartsPros, the washer worked a couple of cycles then gave me the same "SrV CLL" message. I didn't know how to access the error codes on this model but found the info in the Tech Sheet, so I checked it and got an E53 code. Since I'd replaced the motor already, I purchased and installed a new motor control board. Problem solved! A side note: the Tech Sheet also tells how to check the motor's leads with a multimeter to see if it's "bad". I checked my "old' motor, it tested "good", so now I have a 7-year-old "backup" to keep for future issues . . . . haha! Rookie mistake . . . . Thanks, APP for the videos and repair help info! My local appliance repair guy, who I've not had to use on this stuff, is now aware of your site and all the helpful info it contains! He WELCOMED the info!!!! Denise L Joliet , IL October 18, 2015 E 59 error: motor No code was displayed on my unit so I had to figure out the issue. After cleaning out the filter, my machine still would not spin. While it filled and drained fine, the basin would not spin. I removed the belt from the back and the basin spun freely. The shaft on the motor was locked in place, so I knew the motor was my problem. I went on the hunt for the part and at 11:30p, I was chatting with a rep (FANTASTIC customer service) who confirmed it was my motor and provided me the link to the correct part. I ordered the motor and had it the next business day. The motor was a simple repair! It took me less than 10 minutes to get the old motor out and the new one in. The belt was tricky but after 10 minutes I got it back on too. Incredibly easy repair! - SAHM of two Read More... 1 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers, Socket Set
