Nicholas J Temple , TX October 02, 2021 Appliance: Frigidaire Dishwasher FFBD2406NB0A The pump was dead. The flapper valve was severely damaged and drain hose was full of gunk. So my dishwasher died, I'm fairly mechanically inclined so I began diagnosing it and my first suspicion was that the pump died, so I started looking around to see if I could find parts for this model. I found this site, and I must say I absolutely love how the site is set up, they took my diagnoses of "water won't drain" and of course suggested the pump, but then also suggested the hose and flapper valve as possible points of failure, now I knew the hose was totally clogged as I was able to get water from one end to the other, but a flapper valve? Never even heard of it. I figured if I'm gonna be pulling it out and repairing id rather have everything I need all in one go so I ordered the parts, and they arrived 4 days earlier than the site projected so kudos to the shipping there. I pulled the dishwasher out and began examining all the parts and it was just like the videos showed, and just as easy to replace everything, and if the site hadn't suggested other parts. I would have had multiple problems, turns out my pump WAS dead, but the flapper valve was also twisted and distorted and the hose was caked full of crud, not clogged.. yet... but not too far from it, so by the site suggesting other possibilities they helped me avert other problems down the line add to that the super helpful walkthrough videos they offered and this site is fantastic!! Jeffrey M Macedon , NY March 20, 2022 Appliance: Frigidaire Dishwasher, Built-In FGID2466QF5A My Frigidaire fgid2466qf5a is retaining water after cycle complete. Normally, this would be a flapper or drain pump issue. However, the reason for the excess water was a bad fill valve - the fill valve was very slowly dripping out water thus filling up the bottom of the dishwasher. The rubber seal in the fill valve had deteriorated with time. I suspect that many Frigidaire dishwasher not draining issues are due to water leaks from the fill valve and not from the drain pump or flapper valve. To detect this problem you can place a paper towel on the fill water outlet port. You also can see if the amount of water in the bottom of the dishwasher increases over time after the wash cycle is complete.
