This complete wheel assembly is a genuine OEM part that is sourced directly from the manufacturer for use on riding lawn mowers for moving the lawnmower around. The wheel assembly contains the wheel, rim, and connecting rod. Over time, normal wear and tear can cause the wheel assembly to malfunction. If the wheel assembly is damaged, the lawnmower won't be functional until the wheel assembly is replaced. If the lawnmower is wobbly or not riding smoothly, the wheels should be checked for damage. Any damaged wheels should be removed and replaced. Remove the spark plug before replacing the wheel assembly. Wear work gloves and safety goggles when making repairs. Before replacing the wheel assembly, place a block or jack under the lawnmower. Use a socket to remove the nut securing the wheel assembly. Remove the damaged wheel assembly and place the new wheel assembly on the shaft. Replace the nut and tighten it. Lower the mower. This complete wheel assembly is sold as one individual unit. A flange lock nut, also known as a flange lock or a lock nut, is created to be used in various types of lawn and garden equipment. This flange lock nut holds other parts in place and, when properly threaded, will resist loosening. Over time, a flange lock nut may begin to weaken and may become loose or break. If it appears to be broken or weak, a replacement is required. Flange locks can be adjusted and uninstalled after use. When replacement is required, you may need a socket set, screwdriver, hacksaw, and butane torch. The socket wrench will loosen the bolt it is connected to, while the torch is used to heat the lock nut. A socket wrench may remove the nut, but sometimes cutting it with a hacksaw is required. This flange lock nut is a genuine OEM component directly from the manufacturer and comes in an individual unit. It is made of metal, a gold color, and can be found in various areas of lawn equipment. It works with lawnmowers, trimmers, snowblowers, cultivators, tillers, and leaf blowers by Poulan, MTD, Toro, Cub Cadet, Murray, Troy-Bilt, Bolens, Yard Machines, Craftsman, and Yard-Man.
This is a flanged lock nut. It’s designed to apply tension, typically on a joint that needs to have a certain amount of flex. As such, it’s mostly used on snowblower chutes and lawnmower handles. They can remain in place, but with a forgiving connection that can take a beating. The nut size is 3/8, with a thread size of 16. A lock nut will generally last for many years. However, the silicone ring inside will wear down if it’s frequently tightened and loosened. It needs to be replaced when it will no longer reliably remain in place. Generally, this begins as a symptom of slight slippage and worsens as time goes on. Thankfully, whether it’s being used on a snowblower or a lawnmower, this nut is generally straightforward to access. Simply unscrew the old nut, then screw the new nut on until it’s nice and tight. Our flanged lock nuts are genuine OEM MTD nuts, and they are sold individually.
