Peter K Hawthorn Woods , IL March 08, 2017 Noisy drum pulley or motor The video was quite helpful with step by step instructions. I ordered a belt and idler pulley before dismantling assuming they were the issues. Belt was easy and fit fine but I did not realize the idler pulley was secured with a special fastener, push on cap nut, that would be damaged if removed. So I left it in place. Original pulley seemed fine so I reassembled the dryer. Restarted and of course the noise remained. I ordered the push on fastener and also the drum bearing as a precaution. I suggest anyone with a noisy drum replace belt, pulley, drum bearing and the pulley fastener. May as well spend a little more parts money instead of wasting labor and extending downtime. It works great. Read More... 1 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers

Dan J Oswego , NY September 30, 2020 Appliance: Model GHDN520EDOWS There was an intermittent squeak when operating The video that was available with the selection of the part was excellent. One comment, my particular machine, same model number, there were differences. The control panel was mounted differently and the tools required were different. A 3/8" nut driver and Phillips screwdriver were needed. The repair went well. When I was reinstalling the dryer drum, I first tried from the front of the machine due to the available in my laundry room. I struggled getting it aligned properly and could not get the shaft aligned. I then stood to the side of the machine, and I easily installed it. From the side is as it is shown in the video. Fred C Arlington , TN March 24, 2020 Appliance: General Electric Electric Dryer DRSR495EG0WW 13 year old ge dryer was squeaking loudly during operation The parts I ordered came in very quickly. The repair took me about 1-1/2 hours because I spent time to make sure all of the accumulated lint was cleaned out. I found that 3 of the 4 slide bearings were completely worn away but I went ahead and changed the idler pulley and drive belt while I had the dryer open. The Drum Front Support Bearing showed some wear in the area of the lost grey slide bearings and I will probably get to go back in to get this later. I should have ordered the Dryer Bearing Kit and I could have taken care of this at the same time. Anyway, the dryer is running quietly and smoothly for now. Read More... James N Raleigh , NC May 02, 2020 Appliance: General Electric Electric Dryer DPSE810EG5WT Squeaking 12 year old GE dryer. I figured just in need of maintenance. Replaced the front and rear drum bearing assemblies. And, by the way, the repair kits ordered from AppliancePartsPros were genuine GE parts, and arrived in just a couple of days...amazing. The repair videos were also very helpful. Probably could not have done the job without them. No telling how much I saved by doing the job myself. Thank you! Read More...
