Peter K Hawthorn Woods , IL March 08, 2017 Noisy drum pulley or motor The video was quite helpful with step by step instructions. I ordered a belt and idler pulley before dismantling assuming they were the issues. Belt was easy and fit fine but I did not realize the idler pulley was secured with a special fastener, push on cap nut, that would be damaged if removed. So I left it in place. Original pulley seemed fine so I reassembled the dryer. Restarted and of course the noise remained. I ordered the push on fastener and also the drum bearing as a precaution. I suggest anyone with a noisy drum replace belt, pulley, drum bearing and the pulley fastener. May as well spend a little more parts money instead of wasting labor and extending downtime. It works great. 1 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes
