How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP2042281 / WE2M96 1 We2x329

I did this repair for a senior neighbor of ours. Just removed the top; one side and the front panel of the dryer to gain access to the pulley area. Then removed the broken one and put the new pulley on. Fastened the dryer panels back together and tested, the dryer operated perfectly with this new part. This was a very easy repair because the correct part was exactly what we ordered from Appliance Parts Pros Steve P Texas 

The video that was available with the selection of the part was excellent. One comment, my particular machine, same model number, there were differences. The control panel was mounted differently and the tools required were different. A 3/8" nut driver and Phillips screwdriver were needed. The repair went well.When I was reinstalling the dryer drum, I first tried from the front of the machine due to the available in my laundry room. I struggled getting it aligned properly and could not get the shaft aligned. I then stood to the side of the machine, and I easily installed it. From the side is as it is shown in the video. 

Replaced the front and rear drum bearing assemblies. And, by the way, the repair kits ordered from AppliancePartsPros were genuine GE parts, and arrived in just a couple of days...amazing. The repair videos were also very helpful. Probably could not have done the job without them. No telling how much I saved by doing the job myself. Thank you! 

The parts I ordered came in very quickly. The repair took me about 1-1/2 hours because I spent time to make sure all of the accumulated lint was cleaned out. I found that 3 of the 4 slide bearings were completely worn away but I went ahead and changed the idler pulley and drive belt while I had the dryer open. The Drum Front Support Bearing showed some wear in the area of the lost grey slide bearings and I will probably get to go back in to get this later. I should have ordered the Dryer Bearing Kit and I could have taken care of this at the same time. Anyway, the dryer is running quietly and smoothly for now. 

ORDERED ALL SLIDE PADS AND BEARING KITS WITH NEW BELT ALL PARTS FIT PERFECT SPEEDY DELIVERY NOW ITS BETTER THEN NEW 

Replaced it.. 

New belt, pulley,& nut 

Watched a YouTube video that I think was posted by Appliance Parts Pros, and was able to take apart dryer and replace belt and idler pulley with ease. I put the cap on using pliers and a hammer- nut wouldn't just push on, it needed a little coaxing. 

New pulley, belt and retain,g nut note: believe adding just a small amount of grease on rod holding the pulley will avoid squeaking. 

I followed Video instructions. I even noticed that the service Rep was wearing gloves. That's when I realized that the inside tin is very dangerous. I had no problems at all with switch over. Thanks Guys!!!!
