Richard W Fernandina Beach , FL January 09, 2016 Appliance: General Electric Garbage Disposer GFC720F-01 Leaking disposal We have a 3/4 HP GE disposal. It was installed when we built the house approximately ten years ago. It has been fantastic except for one thing. Every six months or so it would start leaking. I would tighten the Support Ring and off we would go for another six months. This time the Sink Flange began to "separate" (break apart at the top). I called my plumber but they said they only work on one brand (it was not GE) so my only option was to buy a new unit from them. That was unacceptable!! I ordered the parts necessary to replace everything from the flange down to the actual disposal. The parts were received as promised and the repair was easily made. Turns out the unit was installed improperly 10 years ago as the gaskets were not properly located!
