John V East Quogue , NY August 15, 2016 Appliance: Model J S900S0K3SS F7 error code ge profile oven A very common problem with the GE oven is the dreaded F7 error code. I purchased the control board as well as the keypad and replaced both. The error code could have been either part but since I saw a lot of grease, I chose to change out both even though I isolated the problem to the keypad only. By resetting the error first by hitting the clock button on the keypad, turning off the power, disconnecting the keypad, then turning back on the power if the code doesn't come back it's the keypad. If it does comeback, it's the controller. The items where genuine parts from G.E. and the replacement was done in approximately 30 minutes. To disassemble the front plate, you take the stove knobs off and under that is what looks like plastic nuts. Unscrew each from where the knobs were and that releases the top plastic plate along with two screws to each side. Once that plate is off, it exposes all the screws to disassemble. Melissa H Knoxville , TN August 01, 2016 We had a power surge during a storm and the burners worked but the stove did not We contacted you guys and said it just needed a new control board for 179.95. We got it rather quickly about 3 business days. We finally had the opportunity to fix it and once we figured out how to get to the control board. The rest went rather smoothly. The hardest part was unplugging the things from the old control board carefully and plug them into the new control board without breaking anything. The oven now works and was rather easily fixed. William A Corpus Christi , TX November 23, 2023 Board has gunk on it, ruined boards ability and face plate had a large crack in it I cleaned the inside, vacuuming up all big debris. Wiped and scrubbed all grease and debris. My daughter and I unplugged stove. The Glass top was taken off to put the new back burner unit on. Vacuumed everything/mess inside. Wiped it all down. Then took new board and top plate and put them in. Everything looked clean and new now. I live in Texas the roach state. Once all is clean and put back together the oven works like new. The parts were a good price and cheaper than replacing the stove. This was a wonderful experience and my daughter was a born mechanic. Read More...
