Matthew M Fairfield , CA July 23, 2018 GE profile in wall oven gave F 9 code and would shut off after 30 minutes The F9 error code is supposed to indicate that the door lock mechanism has failed. My oven would give the F9 code and turn off during normal baking at 400 F after about 30-40 minutes. It turns out that GE must have programmed the error codes incorrectly in my model, because the real problem was that my control board cooling fan was no longer functional, and one of the two thermal switches was shutting off the unit when the control board area got too hot. AppliancePartsPros.com is one of the best online companies I have dealt with. The exploded diagrams, pictures of individual parts, and the ability to search by model number is really helpful. FYI - Stupid GE often puts a dummy zero in their model numbers. Even their technicians couldn't figure out my model number. After some internet searching, I found this out. GE should train their people a little better. Read More... 21 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes Tools: Nut Drivers, Pliers
Andrew M Windham , ME February 13, 2016 Appliance: Model KENMORE 911.47813201 The oven was not heating at all everything else worked fine i checked the control board and found a relay that had burned up I purchased the control board on a Sunday night and it arrived Tuesday with standard shipping. Replaced the board and it works great. It only took about 15 minutes to do and the hardest part was getting the old molex connectors disengaged to be able to plug in the new control board. I ended up taking the front trim off so I could get at the tabs on the connector from underneath. Richard W Oregon , OH May 29, 2019 Oven would not heat I ordered a new oven control board (used) on eBay. It did not fix the problem. Paid a repair guy to tell me what I already knew: the part was bad. Ordered the new control board from AppliancePartsPros and the oven works like new again. I should have just ordered from these guys in the first place. Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes Tools: Nut Drivers

Jeff C Carlisle , IN March 19, 2022 Appliance: General Electric Electric Range JT952CF1CC F9 Replaced the High Limit Switches for the upper and lower ovens on a 20 year old GE Profile Wall Oven. Bottom oven was shutting off after 20 minutes and sometimes the door would lock. Got an F9 error code. Thought maybe limit switch was bad causing lower oven to over heat. Replaced both switches because I was already in there and not much expense. Did not fix the issue. Removed upper & lower door lock mechanisms. Put the one from the lower oven in the upper oven and visa versa. Problem then occurred in the upper oven. Lower oven worked fine. Have ordered a new door lock mechanism for the lower oven. Hoping that will work… if not we will be cooking in the upper oven only! Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes Tools: Nut Drivers, Socket Set
