Genuine Frigidaire part
By: Frigidaire
Part Number: 5304485917
The Shock Absorber Kit is an OEM part for Frigidaire washing machines. It is a comprehensive kit that includes 2 shock absorbers, 1 locking pin, 4 lock nuts, and a set of instructions. These shock absorbers play a vital role in reducing vibrations and absorbing shocks during the washing cycle, providing stability and minimizing excessive movement.
Causes of a bad shock absorber can include wear and tear over time, exposure to heavy loads or unbalanced loads that put excessive strain on the absorbers, or damage due to impact or mishandling.
Symptoms of a bad Shock Absorber include:
- Excessive shaking or vibrating during the wash cycle
- Loud banging noises
- The washer moving or walking during the operation
- Leaks due to increased stress on the tub and other components
This OEM Frigidaire part can also be used on Electrolux, Frigidaire, Gibson, Kelvinator, Westinghouse, and Sears/Kenmore.

Very noisy then ultimately bearing failure and a broken shock mount Brian B. • Canton , NY • September 23, 2014
I watched the video posted by Jerrod Sessler on yellow van handyman.com. Then I had to unstack the dryer from the washer, remove all covers, disconnect all hose connections, shock mounts and springs and remove the tub assembly. Then I disassembled the tub assembly and remove seal and both bearings from the rear half. At this point I cleaned everything. I installed new bearings and seal, installed the basket and assembled both tub halves using a new gasket and silicone, and reinstalled the...

The trunnion is the hub that mounts the washer's inner tub to the drive shaft. Replacing a worn hub restores a solid, centered connection so the basket spins smoothly without wobble, slip, or grinding. What it does:
- Secures and centers the spin basket on the drive shaft for balanced rotation
- Transfers drive torque to the inner tub during spin
- Helps maintain basket alignment to reduce vibration
- Typical symptoms of failure: loose/wobbly tub, scraping or grinding noises, poor or no spin, frequent out-of-balance events
What's included:
Install notes:
- Disconnect power and water before service; wear gloves and eye protection
- Access the hub by removing top/access parts, then the agitator/wash plate and inner-tub fasteners
- Clean the shaft and mating surfaces; seat the new trunnion fully and tighten fasteners evenly in a crisscross pattern
- Inspect related parts (tub seal, bolts, bearing) while open and replace if worn; run a short test cycle to ensure smooth spin

Leaking washer tub Hugh S. • Miami , FL • June 25, 2016
The seal at the bottom of the tub had started to fail. On large loads water would leak so I ordered a new one rubber seal. Getting the trunnion off the transmission shaft was hard as it was calcified and corroded. I used a wire brush to get some of it off and then used a lot of WD-40. The bolt holding the trunnion plate on sheared off when I tried to remove it on one side and the other came out ok (the bolt hole through the trunnion is not threaded so it should slide out once the plate is off...
