To install the rope starter, a socket wrench and screwdriver are required. The replacement can be done in a few minutes when following proper instructions. Wear gloves for protection. The housing must first be disassembled for the replacement of a rope starter. Remove the broken rope starter and install the new one by turning the starter string to build tension.
