This water inlet valve assembly controls the flow of water from the home supply into the refrigerator. Replacing a faulty valve restores proper water delivery to the ice maker and/or dispenser for consistent ice production and dispensing.
- Opens and closes to send water to the ice maker and/or dispenser as commanded by the refrigerator
- Common symptoms: no water from dispenser, no ice production, slow/weak dispenser flow
- May also present as continuous dripping into the ice maker/dispenser or leaks around the valve body
- If water lines and filter are clear but filling is inconsistent or absent, the valve may be at fault

- Disconnect power and shut off the water supply before servicing
- Place a towel or shallow pan to catch residual water; note line and wire locations for reassembly
- Ensure tubing is fully seated in fittings; avoid overtightening plastic connections
- Restore water and power, then check all joints for leaks and run the dispenser to purge air/debris
