The Drive Belt is an OEM part for Whirlpool washing machines. This belt works to spin the washing machine tub and agitate clothes during cycles. It transmits rotational power from the motor to the inner tub and outer tub.
Causes of a bad drive belt can include wear and over time usage, exposure to harsh detergents or fabric softeners that may cause premature wear and cracking, or damage from overloading the washer.
Symptoms of a bad drive belt include:
- The washer tub not spinning or rotating very slowly
- Loud squealing, squeaking or grinding noises when operating
- The belt slipping off the pulleys
- Vibrating that causes the washer to walk or move during cycles
This genuine OEM Whirlpool part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.
