This is a refrigerator drip pan kit. It is located on the bottom of the appliance and is used to help catch condensation from the appliance. Any moisture that is made while the refrigerator goes through its operation cycles will collect in the pan to prevent a mess. If the drip pan has been damaged, the most common symptom is water dripping on the floor. Checking for a clog should be done. If the actual part is damaged, it will need to be replaced. Before replacing the drip pan kit, unplug the power cord on the appliance and pull the refrigerator from the wall. Use a nut driver to release the water inlet line coupler before taking off the access panel. Reach in and bend the pan retaining tab, open the doors of the appliance, and take off the water filter cover. Remove the toe plate to access and replace the drip pan. This is a genuine OEM drip pan kit that can be used as a replacement for Dacor, Jenn Air, Hardwick, and Maytag refrigerators. It is sold as an individual component and is provided directly from the manufacturer.
Replaced the freezer defroster drip pan. I first removed the Ice maker. It has t 1/4" head screws located under the ice maker. The I lifted the ice maker a bit and pulled it out approx 4". That allowed me to get my hand behind it so it could be unplugged. There are 2 retaining locks-tabs the need to be squeezed. I then removed the four 1/4" screws that hold the aluminum panel that the light bulbs are in. I just flipped that panel down so I didnt have to unplug everything. The next panel is... Read more

This product is a Whirlpool refrigerator drip pan for the evaporator. The drip pan is in place to catch water created from defrosting or condensation created by the evaporator. A damaged or clogged pan will lead to water leaking underneath the appliance. Substantial leaks from the refrigerator need to be inspected. Typically the two leading causes would be a worn-out seal from the door causing ice to melt or a clogged or damaged drip pan. Carefully examine the drip pan to ensure it's not just a clog, which is easily fixable. Any cracks or more significant damage means a replacement should be ordered.Access the drip pan by removing the bottom vent of the refrigerator. The drip pan is connected to the evaporator. Unplug the refrigerator to ensure safety before making any repairs. Carefully unscrew the nut that fastens the connecting line between the evaporator and the drip pan with a wrench. Remove the old drip pan and insert the new product. Make sure the nut is tight enough to make a good connection between the evaporator and the new component. This product is compatible with Whirlpool, Admiral, Magic Chef, Jenn-Air, and KitchenAid appliances. This is a genuine OEM product sourced directly from the original manufacturer.
I dealt with an obnoxious buzzing/grinding noise from the freezer ceiling fan (as ice dripped down and the blades churned against it). Later, the water dripped into the rest of the freezer compartment and delivered a nice coating of ice on everything. I'm a new homeowner, and never opened a fridge before, so I'm a novice & this is my 1st experience. (1) I removed all food from the refrigerator/freezer. (I had a 2nd, luckily. You could rent one for the day if needed.) Turn off the power... Read more
