So I noticed a few months ago that the dishwasher door felt a lot heavier than it used to. Then just recently I opened it and heard something snap and the door came crashing down onto my foot! Ouch!! The door was still able to close but opening it required it being fully lowered by hand. I had no idea how heavy the dishwasher door was! So I got down onto the kitchen floor with a flashlight. I removed the metal panel at it’s base by lifting it up and pulling it out. Once I was able to get a... Read more

I replaced both support springs. It took several tries to get the springs installed in the correct orientation, even though I had read--and thought I understood--the instructions. The retainer side pin must be fed through the slot with the adjustment notches, and then latch it in the proper notch. Those screws are located beneath the lower panel, so you'll have your head on the floor to see 'em! 2. Lift the lower panel up and out. 3. Using the nut driver, remove the two kick-plate screws and lay the kick-plate aside. 4. Discard the broken spring. 5, Look at the remaining spring to determine where the spring should hook. 6. Hook... Read more

These springs work great but I did find some issues when installing them. Here's what I did: 1) Turn off the power to the dishwasher at the circuit breaker or fuse panel. Once you remove the kick panel there are a lot of exposed wires that carry live power. 2) Remove the kick panel. There are 4 screws (on mine one was missing). A nut driver makes it much easier. A flat blade screwdriver can be used but it will be much more frustrating. 3) Latch the dishwasher door and remove the access covers... Read more
