This PTC compressor start relay briefly powers the compressor's start winding to get the motor turning, then drops out as it warms. Replacing a weak relay can restore consistent compressor starts and stabilize refrigerator and freezer temperatures.
- Momentarily energizes the compressor's start winding; disengages automatically as the PTC element heats
- Helps protect the compressor by removing the start winding after startup
- Symptoms of failure can include compressor clicking but not running
- Intermittent cooling or warming temperatures between cycles
- Heat discoloration or a burnt odor around the start device
What's included: 1 PTC start relay Installation notes:
- Disconnect power and remove the rear lower access panel
- Note wire locations; remove the start device cover/retainer and pull the old relay straight off the compressor pins
- Inspect compressor pins; firmly seat the new relay and reconnect wiring
- Reinstall covers/panels, restore power, and verify normal compressor start

I ordered the compressor starting device kit and run capacitor to replace the burnt parts. It works right off the bat! The parts are for a Kenmore fridge/freezer. Saves Money and a trip to Dumping place. Great product and great Price. This is the second time I fix friends fridge/freezer with this repair kit from this site. Great Service!
