Kenmore / Sears Microwave Fuse Or Sensor

Kenmore Humidity Sensor Assembly (Microwave)
Genuine Lg part
By: Lg
Part Number: 6501W1A013A

This humidity sensor assembly monitors moisture inside the microwave cavity during Sensor Cook and Reheat cycles, allowing the control to automatically adjust time and power. Replacing a failed sensor can restore accurate, reliable sensor-based cooking performance. What it does:

  • Detects steam/humidity in the cavity for auto-sensing cook and reheat programs
  • Sends feedback to the control board to adjust power levels and cook time
  • Failure symptoms include sensor cook not starting, stopping early, "sensor" error messages, or inconsistent results on auto settings
What's included:
  • One humidity sensor assembly
Install notes:
  • Unplug the appliance before service; microwaves contain a high-voltage capacitor that can retain a dangerous charge
  • Handle the sensor face carefully and keep it clean; route and secure the wire harness as originally

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Microwave would not microwave   Richard E. • Cape Coral , FL • January 05, 2020

Replaced the Humidity sensor, Thermistor and door switches. I replaced these thinking the problem was one of the items but didn't want to trial and error one part at a time. Plus the cost was reasonable so if these didn't help I wasn't out a lot of money. I sense the door switch was the problem. Replaced all items and the microwave works great. Thanks for the advice and the cost of the parts. Read more

Kenmore Thermistor (Temperature Sensor), Single
Genuine Ge part
By: Ge
Part Number: WB18X10126

This temperature thermistor is the sensor that lets the control board monitor and regulate appliance temperature for reliable cooling performance. Replacing a failing thermistor can restore proper temperature control and cycling. What it does:

  • Senses internal temperature and sends readings to the control board
  • Helps the compressor, fans, and defrost system run at the right times
  • Commonly linked to symptoms like incorrect temperatures, overcooling, or frequent on/off cycling
  • A faulty thermistor can cause improper defrost timing or erratic cooling behavior
What's included: One thermistor Install notes:
  • Disconnect power before inspecting or replacing the sensor to avoid shock
  • Handle the sensor and wiring connector gently to avoid damage
  • Mount the sensor in the original location and secure wiring per OEM routing

Kenmore Thermistor (Temperature Sensor)
Genuine Lg part
By: Lg
Part Number: 6322W2A001A

Thermistor is a temperature-sensing replacement that monitors refrigerator and freezer temperatures so the control board can regulate cooling. Replacing a faulty thermistor restores accurate temperature readings and helps stabilize cooling performance. What it does:

  • Senses interior/evaporator temperature and sends a signal to the control board for temperature regulation.
  • Helps prevent erratic cooling, long run-times, or inconsistent compartment temperatures when operating correctly.
  • Faulty thermistors can contribute to excessive frost, failed defrost cycles, or compressor cycling issues.
  • Use when the existing sensor fails to report correct temperatures or the part number matches.
What's included: One thermistor sensor. Install notes:
  • Always disconnect power to the appliance before servicing to avoid shock or damage.
  • The sensor is typically mounted on or near the evaporator or inside a cabinet wall; access may require removing panels or covers.
  • Handle the sensor and wiring harness gently; avoid pulling on wires or bending the sensor element.
