Bob S Miller Place , NY December 13, 2023 Appliance: Kenmore Washer 79641302610 Odd noise on start oe code which indicates drain pump This was Kenmore front load washer made by LG. Model 796.41302610 First, AppliancePartsPros.com has been great. This is my fourth time using them. Staff, DIY comments, and videos are all very helpful. Always ended up with the right part and received next day. The machine made an odd noise on start-up. I ran diagnostics. Had a problem finding how to do diagnostics since the instructions in the manual were wrong. Found the correct process on YouTube. Needed to hold the spin and soil buttons along with the power button to get into diagnostic mode then advance through each part of the cycle by pressing the start/pause button. I needed to unplug the machine to reset it. The machine would start where it last left off i.e. The problem was the drain cycle but the machine would start making odd noises on the initial turn which made no sense to me if it was a drain pump. Once I unplugged the machine, it ran through a full cycle until it got to the drain cycle giving the OE code. Just follow the steps from various videos to remove the pump. A lot of steps for this machine. Needed to remove the top, control panel, and front of the machine to get to the pump. I suggest getting spring pliers to remove the spring that holds the boot around the drum. Also, take lots of pictures and keep screws and parts well organized. I also marked certain parts with markers to locate proper places to replace wires, screws, etc. I had changed the drain pump on another machine which was much more accessible and much easier. This machine was a more involved project. Next time I buy a washer, I will find out where the pump is and how complicated the process is to change since this seems to be a common fail. Many thanks to AppliancePartsPros.com. Saved me well over $200! Jake B Laughlin , NV March 16, 2025 Appliance: LG Washer WM8100HVA/00 Washer not draining and drain pump making rattling noise I replaced the drain pump. Under visual inspection after removal, I could see that the impeller on the drain pump was cracked and the impeller shaft was loose. The video for the process was helpful, and the work went fairly smoothly, taking an afternoon to complete. A suggestion that helped also was to take a couple of photos of the installed pump assembly prior to disconnecting any lines or removing it. Read More...
