Nathaniel S Saugus , MA October 28, 2017 Appliance: Model WM3170CW (00) LG WM3170CW washing machine excessive vibration. My LG front load washing machine was vibrating severly on the spin cycle. I noticed the drum was tilted toward the back of the machine, so I replaced the rear damper. The repair was straightforward: just undo the back cover and swap out the damper. Using a deep socket to push the barbs on the pins holding the damper in place made the repair easier. John H High Point , NC May 17, 2016 Appliance: Model WM2650HWA Washing machine was banging around during rinse and spin cycles Ordered the dampeners from Appliance Parts Pro. Took the LG washer apart to replace the dampeners, which was not difficult with the video that I found on the web site (found it under a different part, though). Discovered that the bottom balance weight was in two pieces, one lying on the washer floor. Had to order it from a different source that had it in stock. Thought I would order the top balance weight as well while I had everything "open", only to find out that the part is no longer available. This washer is less than three years old!! Anyway, I cemented the cracked plastic cover on the top weight and wrapped it with duct tape to alleviate stress on the cover. Put it all back together and the washer works like new..... Considerably more quiet and hardly any vibration, even with a heavy load. Chris R Bellingham , WA November 29, 2018 Appliance: LG Washer WM4270HVA Excessive vibration in rinse cycle/machine walking across floor. Ordered damper assembly (3), watched Youtube video and replaced all 3 dampers and pins. Very easy to do after following instructions. Once the front panel of machine was removed I saw the lower weight balance (Lead filled plastic mold around bottom of drum) was off the pins and was just laying loose at bottom of machine. That was why the machine was walking across the floor, but what caused the weight balance to vibrate off over time was the failure of the dampers, causing excessive vibration. Put the weight balance back in place, tightened the bolts that expand the grips that hold on to the pins and now the machine is like brand new. No vibration at all and much quieter.
