Lg 4681ED1004B Dishwasher Circulation Motor OEM Part

So all of a sudden the dishwasher stops working, "0E error"on the panel. Did some google searches and found that it might be the filter, which I did not know needed to be changed, or worse, the motor. Took the filter off per online tutorial (easy) and mopped up all the stagnant water. Poking around, I find the small rubber check valve that has broken. Had to fish it out with tweezers. Long story short, it was not the motor and I doubt it was the filter. It was this $1.87 rubber drainage check valve. Washer works as good as new.

I remove the dishwasher laid it on it's backside, took off the bottom panel everything was easy to access. while I had the dishwasher out I just decided to replace the motor as well, I've noticed in the past the motor had been making some abnormal noises.Only reason I knew it was the motor making noise is because I own the same dishwasher, the repairs I just made were on my moms dishwasher, she's owns the same exact dishwasher as I do. After three years of owning my LG I had to replace the motor because it completely went out and it sounded like hers was doing the same. But as for why the drain hose cracked in half that's still a mystery... All in all it has been a decent dishwasher but for the price and the repairs that had to be made on both I won't be purchasing anymore LG dishwashers, but at least LG has made them easy to work on...!! Ordered the motor on Sunday night and got it on Tuesday. Replaced motor on Wed. in about 40 minutes including removing dishwasher and reinstalling it under counter. Easy fix. Great customer service and shipping helped get this thing back on line.

I replaced the dishwasher circulation motor. I also replaced the impeller assembly, although it turns out that was not necessary. Actually replacing the motor was straightforward: Remove the upper and lower racks. Turn off the breaker and water supply. Disconnect power, supply water and drain hose. Slide out the dishwasher. Inside the dishwasher, unscrew the two screws holding on the bottom rotating sprayer and remove the sprayer, unscrew the one screw holding the little metal bracket and remove the little bracket, remove all the long screws holding down the filter assembly, unclip the tube that feeds the upper sprayer (at top and back) and rotate clockwise (looking down from above) to unhook it from the filter assembly, remove that tube, lift up and remove the filter assembly, unscrew the screw that holds the impeller to the circulation motor shaft (this is a left-handed screw, to screw clockwise to loosen), pull off the impeller, lift out the assembly below the impeller, and finally very carefully slide the grinder blade off of the circulation motor shaft. Close the dishwasher door. Tilt the dishwasher on its side, disconnect the wiring harness on the motor (you will need a small slotted screwdriver to pry back the tabs), remove four self tapping screws that hold on the motor cover plate (don't lose the screws), unscrew the four screws that hold on the dishwasher circulation motor, pull out the motor, then install the new motor by doing these steps in reverse.

Replaced the circulation pump and related rubber gaskets, seal and the rubber check valve. Didn't realize how noisy the unit had become until after I replaced the pump. Now we don't even hear it when it's running! Was easy to replace with basic tools, just like the videos. RM
