Fix loud clicking noise and compressor that won't start with this overload protector. Stops intermittent cooling failures. Moderately easy DIY repair.
Research question lead to others that had the same issue. Consensus lead to a common repair. Compressor overload switch going bad. After ordering the correct parts, I changed out both the switch and the motor start capacitor just in case. After cleaning the equipment, I then put everything back together.
