Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Ice machine died only lasted a couple of years with problems from day one   Elizabeth H. • San Diego , CA • October 15, 2015

In 2012 I purchased an LG French door bottom freezer fridge. this thing was a problem from day one, I had to call 3 technicians where I bought it from- a nameless major retailer. through the 2 1/2 years I have had it, the problems were always with the ice cube maker, and finally, the motor finally stalled. I was able to revive it, but only for a short time- then I went to replace the unit all together and searched high and low until I came across Appliance Pros. I actually had no idea that 2 of... Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Ice maker quit working.   Lee H. • Cleveland , MN • June 04, 2020

This was easier then I made it. Originally took the actual ice maker out without removing the whole system from the door. There are 3 silver screws that do that hold the whole mechanism in place, as opposed to the 5 white screws that hold the ice maker in place. With the entire assembly out it was a matter of routing the ground wire, retaping the wires, and then the whole assembly went back into the door without a problem. Need a phillips and a flat screwdriver, I also found a needle nose... Read more

Replaced ice maker. Some confusion as to which part # it was as the model number cross reference shows the one I purchased was not for my model refrigerator when it actually was. Secondly, a few comments from others said the switch out was simple. Only 3 screws holding in the ice maker although one of the three was in a tight spot . That is technically true. Three screws do hold the ice maker on the door , however, you must also remove the door panel behind the ice maker to get to the wiring... Read more
