Dave I Bedford , IN April 25, 2020 Appliance: LG Dishwasher LDF7932ST Dishes in top rack weren't getting cleaned water wasn't coming out of top sprayer. Whew... This was an adventure... Let me preface by saying that, for anyone considering simply replacing the circulation motor (AP5325099), save yourself alot of trouble and just replace the whole sump assembly (this part, AP5676704). For reasons that I don't have an adequate character limit to explain, getting a water-tight seal around the circulation motor shaft became impossible for me after installing a new circulation motor, and I'm really surprised more people haven't had a problem with it. Suffice to say, after realizing that the seals on this washer are designed to operate on an appreciable amount of good intentions, I decided to just order a whole new sump assembly, where the only new seals I'd be worrying about are the one around the sump itself, and the three hoses that attach to the bottom of it. Installation of the new sump assembly alone only took a few hours, and the dishwasher is (so far) working perfectly again (with no leaks). Three other tips I'll throw in... 1) The translucent box thing on the left side of the washer was full of water when I first pulled mine out from under the counters (even after allowing the washer to drain itself), and leaked quite a bit of water out of its top vent when I tipped the washer onto its back to access the bottom - be ready with a big towel. 2) If you're leak-testing the dishwasher, know that the seal around the diverter motor shaft isn't water-tight until the *entire* sump assembly, including diverter and top filter, is reinstalled. 3) While there aren't any cleanable filters on this washer (it has a blade just under the circulation pump assembly that chops up everything prior to being recirculated), there is a tiny little trap seated in the middle of the heater, underneath the circulation pump assembly. There was a plastic UPC sticker stuck in mine with a fair amount of collected left-overs (yummy) when I first opened everything up, and that may have been my real problem with water not getting up to the top sprayer (above the top rack - needs quite a bit of pressure from the pump/impeller, since the same feed goes to both the middle and top sprayers). If you're having trouble with water pressure, and your dishwasher isn't making lots of noise (that's usually the obvious symptom of the circulation motor dying - mine wasn't making any more noise than it ever had), check that trap. Justin L Magnolia , TX March 15, 2014 Appliance: LG Dishwasher LDF6810ST LE Error during wash cycle. Happens 1:40 mins into normal wash Replaced Motor pump assembly. The pump assembly was slightly different. One of the wire plug ins was located in different area and clips that secure unit in place had to be slightly modified to fit new assembly. I also repaired two wires in the door that although were not the cause of the Error.Insulation was broken and wires were exposed. So I cut and repaired insulation with heat shrink and used crimps to re-connect wires. Whilst front of door off Noticed seal in bottom of door packed with powder detergent probably overloaded when used by previous owner. Cleaned it out this stopped water dripping from sides of door during wash. Also some rust stains inside door traced to steam vent leaking at seal. Will order Vent Part Number: AP4441313 To repair. After removing old part and cleaning rust and debris from rim. Hardest part of replacing motor assembly was keeping seal in place whilst clipping new part in. I seated two clips and used a flat blade screw driver to pry last clip into place verifying seal was flush from inside of dishwasher. Cables were easy no two the same. Also took a quick picture for reference just incase. Placed paper towel in front of dishwasher during first two tests to make sure no leaks. Then checked leveling and secured dishwasher back in place. Michael G Ware , MA April 12, 2021 Appliance: LG Dishwasher LDS5811ST-01 Dishwasher was not draining or cleaning properly. I bought the new sump assembly, watched a few YouTube's on how to replace it and it worked out well. Inspect the item when you do get it. My part had one broken retainer tab but still decided to use it. I planned on 2 hours but the removal of the dishwasher tool more time and I finished in about 3 hours. Ran a small rinse cycle first and it worked out well then did a full load and that went well also. Check for leaks often and listen for the sound that it makes to make sure it is cycling and pumping the water like it should. The fix was easy but took longer than expected and is a much better option than buying a new dishwasher.
