• Marks left on clothes

After replacing thermal fuse once and having it fail a second time, I had to dig a little deeper to uncover the problem. I checked for blockage in the vent but everything was clear. I did, however, find that the drum had some up and down play in it. After closer inspection, I could see that the front drum seal was actually worn to the point that I could see a gap between the seal and the drum. I took the dryer apart.....first had to clean out all the lint here and there. Took the drum out, inspected the belt and back support wheels. They seemed to be fine. In the front the drum turns on two supports that have a Teflon glide. Those two glides had been worn off with their pad so metal was rubbing against metal. Went online to appliancepartspros.com and looked up on the schematic what parts I needed. I also had called around locally and the same parts cost twice as much....so I... Read more

The root cause was the front glides. They were virtually gone, and the drum was on metal to metal. So I replaced them with a front glide kit. I also replaced the belt, rear rollers, and lint screen. I am happy to say all the parts fit perfectly, and I couldn't find a better price anywhere else. I will definitely keep you on file for the next time I need appliance parts! Thank you! Found the right part at AppliancePartsPros.com, ordered the part, watched the tutorial. Took less than 5 minutes to install new door seal, and now our laundry area is no longer hot and humid. Before we changed the seal, warm air was leaking around the door and made the laundry room and the kitchen next to it unpleasant. Thanks for the great door seal and the handy tutorial! Read more
