This pivot bar is a genuine MTD replacement part for appliances operated by small engines, including lawn tractors, lawn mowers, snowblowers, leaf blowers, and chipper shredders. The pivot bar provides a means of steering the outdoor appliance.A pivot bar might have to be replaced if it suffers damage over time. Although there is not often a need to replace a pivot bar, as it holds up well to general usage and exposure to the elements, a pivot bar might have to be replaced if there is a collision or a traumatic impact as a result of a drop from significant height or onto a particularly hard surface. Additionally, a pivot bar might have to be replaced if there is deterioration in the spindle bushing, thereby exposing the pivot bar to potential damage. If this occurs, a replacement pivot bar part should be ordered and secured to the small engine appliance immediately. Remember to always wear gloves when handling, repairing, and operating outdoor equipment. This pivot bar is compatible with the following brands: MTD, Yard Man, Bolens, and Yard Machines.
An idler pulley is an essential part of many small and medium sized gasoline powered tools. This idler pulley is used in equipment such as tillers, lawn tractors, log splitters, edgers, snow blowers, and trimmers. The idler pulley is necessary so that the engine can run without the tool's moving parts being engaged. For instance, a lawn tractor running without the cutting blades turning or the wheels rolling. Once the idler pulley is engaged, the blade begins to turn. There is a great deal of resistance encountered by the idler pulley each time the equipment's tools begin to turn. Over time, the pulley can become worn and will eventually need to be replaced. If there is a squealing sound whenever the moving parts of a lawn tool are engaged, it is probably a sign that the idler pulley is about to fail. The pulley itself is attached to the engine housing with 9/16 hex bolts and requires an adjustable wrench and 9/16 ratchet to remove and replace. Always use a genuine OEM manufactured replacement part such as this one when replacing the original, as this part is identical to the original. This part is compatible with equipment manufactured by Bolens, MTD, Cub Cadet, Huskee, and Troy Bilt.

The lock nut is a piece of standard hardware that may have a variety of applications on lawn and garden equipment, including on engines, housings, and other components. The lock nut offers a secure fit by tightening into a flange that prevents the nut from loosening like a regular nut might. Over time, the flange or the nut can become worn or damaged. In some cases, lock nuts may be lost during the process of other repairs or maintenance. Replacing them with genuine OEM parts like this lock nut is the best solution. This lock nut is compatible with hundreds of machines, including mowers, snowblowers, and chippers from MTD, Troy-Bilt, Cub Cadet, RYOBI, Yard-Man, Yard Machines, Bolens, and Husky. This lock nut is made of durable metal and sold as a single unit. Those who need additional pieces will have to order multiple quantities. This part will require a wrench or a socket to replace, as well as pliers and/or a screwdriver to hold the bolt or screw in place.
This genuine part is a MTD hex nylon lock nut. It has a variety of applications in log splitters, riding lawn mowers, and lawn tractors. It is also known as a hex insert lock nut. This replacement part is a cotter pin. It is a genuine replacement part made by MTD. Cotter pins are also sometimes known as clevis pins and are responsible for fastening two metals together. This allows the machine to work properly and operate smoothly. A new cotter pin might be needed if the current ones are damaged in any way or even missing. This part is small so it can be misplaced after years of normal wear and tear. It is possible that this part become stripped or lodged in place over time. The repair should be fairly easy and only require common tools. Be sure the engine is completely powered down before beginning this repair. This pin is sold individually. This is a genuine OEM replacement part sourced directly from the manufacturer to ensure a proper fit.
Cotter pins are simple but very effective fasteners used primarily to hold wheels in place on mowers. This is particularly true of the front wheels on riding mowers. Cotter pins are very light and can become overly pliable after extensive use. In some cases, the front wheels of a mower, which are the guide wheels that steer the device, become difficult to manage. The cure for this situation is often simply the replacement of the cotter pins that are not holding the guide wheels adequately in place. Before attempting to remove the pins, it is essential that the spark plug boot is moved so that the mower cannot be started. This is an important safety step because the repairer will be getting under the mower near the blades. The back wheels should be blocked so the mower cannot move, then the front end placed up on blocks. Remove the mower's hubcaps to gain access to the axle spindles. Straighten the legs of the pin so that when the curved portion of the cotter pin is grasped with pliers and it can be pulled straight back and be removed. The spindle, washers, and wheels should be checked for wear before the new pin is placed and secured. This OEM cotter pin is compatible with Bolens, Yard-Man, Craftsman, Yard Machines, Cub Cadet, Turf King, Troy-Bilt, Huskee, Toro, Ryobi, MTD, MasterCut, Murray, and Montgomery Wards.
