This flange lock nut is a metal component used in many types of lawn and garden equipment. It is the part that attaches to the rear wheel to keep it steady on any kind of terrain. It can also be used on handles and chutes for some equipment. The nut size is 3/8 and it has a thread size of 16. Most flange lock nuts will last for years. In some cases, the silicone ring inside the nut will wear down when it is loosened and tightened. When this happens, the flange lock nut will start to move around. It can start as minor slippage but often gets worse over time. It will need to be replaced but this is a simple task. Regardless of what equipment it is attached to, it simply needs to be unscrewed. Take off the old nut and replace it with the new one. This flange lock nut is an authentic OEM product that is sourced directly from the manufacturer. It is sold individually. The lock nut is made for use with lawnmowers, wood chippers, and edgers manufactured by MasterCut, Yard-Man, Bolens, Craftsman, Cub Cadet, Murray, Troy-Bilt, Yard Machines, MTD, and Huskee.

This is a bushing made from black plastic with a cleft down the middle to provide enough flex for easy insertion. It has a flanged design, which means it won’t easily pop out after installation, even under stress from constant vibration. The bushing’s primary purpose is to protect wires and cables from damage as they pass through a channel. As such, the material is fairly durable and does not need to be replaced under ordinary circumstances.
That said, there are some situations in which it can become damaged. For one thing, it’s easy to damage while repairing the wires or cables that run through the bushing. If the bushing does need to be replaced, it requires disconnecting any cables or wires that run through the bushing. Pop out the old bushing with a rubber mallet, install the new bushing the same way, reconnect the wires, and the repair is complete.
This is an OEM part sourced directly from MTD, and it is sold individually. It was initially used on snowblowers but has also been used on lawnmowers and lawn tractors.
