Jennair jjw9630cas double oven doors did not close all the way and the light would not go out Wayne W. • East Longmeadow , MA • February 13, 2016
I have a Jennair jjw9630cas double wall oven, and after a few years I noticed that the light would not go out, first in the bottom oven, and then in the top oven. After doing some research I discovered this was not uncommon, and the fix usually involved replacing the hinges and/or the hinge receptacles. It didn't look like a difficult fix so I ordered four new hinges and four new receptacles, which arrived quickly. I found a video on YouTube that showed how to replace the hinges and it...

Both the freezer and refrigerator stopped cooling Raymond O. • Kerrville , TX • April 11, 2015
I have a Kitchen Aid side by side refrigerator/freezer which is 8 years old. One day it just stopped cooling. At first I was just going to junk it and purchase a new one. However, I took off the lower back cover and noticed the compressor was not running. I knew from experience that these compressors need a starter capacitor and relay and it is not uncommon for these parts to fail. I looked on the Internet for a video which showed how to remove the parts. I also found a video which showed how...

Conderser motor went out David W. • Durand , MI • April 03, 2014
After reviewing the 'how to' video on AppliancePartsPros.com, I unplugged the refrigerator and removed the back cover to access the motor. I then unplugged the wiring and removed the bad motor. I cut the clip plug and wired it to the new motor, installed the fan blade from the old motor and re-installed the new motor. After connecting the clip plug and re-installing the back cover, I plugged the refrigerator in and checked the interior about 5 minutes after the repair. Everything has been...

This defrost timer assembly cycles the refrigerator between cooling and defrost modes to prevent excess frost buildup and help maintain consistent temperatures. Replace a failed timer to restore regular defrost scheduling and reduce icing. What it does:
- Advances the refrigerator between cooling and defrost cycles on a timed schedule.
- Stops missed defrosts that can cause frost buildup on the evaporator and reduced cooling efficiency.
- Addresses symptoms such as excessive frost/ice, inconsistent temperatures, or a freezer that runs constantly.
- Acts as the control that engages the defrost heater and returns the unit to cooling when the cycle finishes.
What's included: One defrost timer assembly. Install notes:
- Disconnect power to the appliance before servicing to avoid shock or injury.
- Access the timer via the control panel or rear service area; document wiring or take photos before disconnecting.
- Install the timer in the same orientation and reconnect wires to the original terminals; do not force connectors.

This start relay controls power to the compressor's start winding so the refrigerator can start and run. Replacing a weak or burned relay restores dependable compressor start-up and can stop repeated clicking with warming temperatures.
- Energizes the compressor's start winding to provide initial torque, then disengages from the circuit
- Common failure symptoms: refrigerator not cooling or intermittently warm; compressor hums/clicks and won't start; relay rattles, smells burnt, or shows heat damage; overload trips
- Helps prevent hard-start conditions that stress the compressor
- The relay contacts are open/shorted, the compressor may fail to start and cycle off on overload
What's included: 1 start relay Install notes:
- Disconnect power before servicing; wear appropriate PPE
- Access the rear machine compartment; remove the relay cover on the compressor. Note wire positions, pull the old relay straight off the compressor pins, transfer wires, and fully seat the new relay in the same orientation
- If equipped, safely discharge the run capacitor; inspect the overload, wiring, and terminals for heat damage and address as needed
- Reinstall the cover. If the compressor still won't start, further diagnosis of the start device, capacitor, or compressor is required

I had a loud freezer fan on an old amana refrigerator Steve B. • Richfield , WI • January 11, 2016
Watching a fix it video through Appliance Parts Pros, I emptied my freezer after disconnecting the power. It is -6 degrees in Wisconsin right now so I threw it all out in the snow. My wife wasn't happy. I then removed the light cover which allowed me to remove two screws which allowed me to pull the top light fixture cowling off. You can put it safely on the side being mindful of the wires. Then, you can remove the back plate of the freezer to get at the fan assembly. Be careful to not...

First cleaned cooling fins at bottom. Plugged!! Cooled well but still got warm again. Tested defrost timer, boarder line good so replaced it. Still was getting warm. After doing a lot of web searching I found a tree chart which showed a trouble shooting method. After dropping down the list my symptom was freezer thermostat was bad. Got one from the Pros.com and the problem was solved. Wish that the drop down chart was on the pros.com website, it would have saved time and food.
