Steve B Richfield , WI January 11, 2016 I had a loud freezer fan on an old amana refrigerator Watching a fix it video through Appliance Parts Pros, I emptied my freezer after disconnecting the power. It is -6 degrees in Wisconsin right now so I threw it all out in the snow. My wife wasn't happy. I then removed the light cover which allowed me to remove two screws which allowed me to pull the top light fixture cowling off. You can put it safely on the side being mindful of the wires. Then, you can remove the back plate of the freezer to get at the fan assembly. Be careful to not damage the thin aluminum fins of the condenser that sits directly behind it. The freezer fan assembly kit I received from Appliance Parts Pros fit in easily and with minimal headache. My total cost was $75. A quote from a local appliance repair professional was over $200.
