Upright frost free freezer would not keep food frozen (Frigidaire name plate but made by (Electrolux) testing determined the refrigeration system worked but it would not defrost. Kenton K. • Chanhassen , MN • May 31, 2020
Fixed it by replacing the electronic control board. Only 30 min. to fix. (See further down for effort to diagnose the problem.) Most of this "fixing time" was spent removing the control panel to access the control board that is attached to it. My freezer has the control panel located in the top center of the door. The only way to remove the control panel is to pry the panel out of the door using a thin-bladed putty knife. The instructions provided were very good in explaining the process;...

Suspected it was the thermostat, since temperature stayed the same at multiple settings over a 24 hr period. There was only three components inside the freezer besides the evaporator, the fan was working, so I decided to just go ahead and replace the thermostat and defrost thermostat. Also replaced the defrost timer by the compressor, just to get all the old parts replaced with new. I had already replaced the compressor, so now I've pretty much have a new freezer. Freezer door gasket and liner replacement. Kenneth A. • Denison , TX • October 02, 2017
Gasket and liner arrived as planned. Clips were a day later. Used "hog ring" pliers to remove the clips, worked great. Pre-punched holes in the gasket did not match the original but the plastic liner did. Used an ice pick to punch the gasket and inserted the clips. This is a chest freezer, so install the hinge side first.

Genuine Frigidaire part

Part Number: 5304507765
The product featured is a Frigidaire refrigerator compressor. The compressor is a vital component for the cooling and freezing process of a refrigerator. A compressor works together with the evaporator in providing the cold air needed to keep everything at the desired temperature. When a compressor fails, this could have an effect that calls for an emergency repair. Losing the compressor function means the refrigerator stops getting cold in both compartments. Prolonging the repair could mean the loss of all the food items stored inside. A faulty compressor may become very loud when it operates. Users may hear a slight clicking sound on a compressor that's entirely out of commission. This is the relay clicking in an attempt to power the compressor. If a compressor does go out, keep the doors of the freezer and refrigerator shut. There's a chance the food can be salvaged if repairs take place fast enough. This compressor is a genuine OEM product and is sourced directly from the manufacturer and is only available as an individual component. Frigidaire, Kenmore, and Maytag refrigerators can be repaired with this component.
