I determined the hidden bake element below the oven cavity was not working, because the bottom of the oven was cold during normal use. If you have a built-in microwave + oven combination (mine is KitchenAid Model No. KEMS308SSS05), this is a difficult repair. The engineer who designed this oven should be invited to succeed elsewhere. Full disassembly of removable tray into top plate (stainless) and lower pan taking care not to loose fasteners. Removal of terminal blocks using lubrication on rusted screws and, if necessary, drill out technique. Unclip wires from edges of the tray on both sides without losing the clips for future re-use. The problem was partly caused because the original legs were at full extension. The replacement legs were longer than the originals and were more secure at the needed length. One difficulty was that the threaded base plate where the legs screwed in had been damaged and had to be reshaped, I was able to reshape the sockets with some effort, to allow the legs to thread in, though one remained slightly angled. The delivery of the element was superfast, less than 24 hrs. Unplug the Stove from the receptical! Took a phippips screwdriver and took out the 2 screws holding it, and tilted it upwards a bit and pulled the element out about 3 inches an unhooked the wires. Hooked the wires up to the new element and pushed it back into the holes and put the 2 screws back in and turned the stove on and that was all there was to that. Read more

Ordered Bake Element, Y04100019 (Whirlpool AP4283614) to replace a broken bake element on my 30-year old Jenn-Air Model S125 Downdraft Slide-in electric range. Bought and installed new hinges. Repair took about an hour but I also cleaned all the glass inside and out on both oven doors. I had ordered extra screws as I read the old ones that hold the hinges were hard to get in as they were self taping but the screw labeled 5 next to the hinge were not the right ones. All old screws worked fine. You just need to put a little power to them to get them started. Easy repair. Read more

Fortunately, I had purchased the first switch for the stove but had not looked underneath the cook top. When the first switch arrived, I discovered that the switch I intended to be replace would have to be put on hold because I discovered another switch that had failed and was a current electrical hazard.
