The Door Latch Spring is a genuine OEM part for LG microwaves. As a key component of the microwave, the door latch spring is responsible for providing the tension needed to securely close and latch the microwave door. It works behind the scenes to ensure a tight seal when the door is shut.
Symptoms of a bad door latch spring include:
- The microwave door not closing or latching properly
- Gaps appearing around the door seal when shut
- Difficulty opening and closing the door
Causes of a bad door latch spring can include wear and tear over time. Exposure to excessive door slamming can also place undue stress on the spring.
This genuine LG OEM replacement part is also compatible with Sears/Kenmore microwaves.

Lg microwave door would not latch closed Audrey S. • Rochester , NY • February 05, 2018
Ordered door latch part and new spring.
You Tube video helped me identify what I needed. I tried the fix recommended and it didn't work so I ordered the parts. It took less than 5 minutes to switch out the old for the new. If the door doesn't latch, you can't run the microwave and it's key. It wasn't an expensive or hard fix to get my microwave up and running again. So pleased with AppliancePartsPros for having what I needed and being reasonable about pricing. Turnaround time was excellent!

The Diode is an OEM replacement part for LG countertop microwave models. Located internally on circuit boards regulating magnetron function, it precisely controls the electric current flow.
Causes of a bad diode involve thermal fatigue over time putting repetitive stress on sensitive semiconductor junctions. Microwave demands may accelerate failures.
Symptoms include:
- Intermittent cooking or complete failure to energize the tube
- Error codes appearing on the control panel display
- Buzzing or humming noises emitting from internal circuitry
This OEM LG part is also compatible with Sears/Kenmore microwaves.

Our microwave made a "pop" sound and stopped working/ Daniel D. • Chesterfield , MO • September 12, 2020
I have a multimeter so I was able to check the fuse per website recommendations and it was blown. However, the capacitor on the microwave was also original so I elected to replace the capacitor, fuse, and the ground protect diode. The repair was very simple (making sure the capacitor was discharged before replacing) and the microwave is now up and running again. Excellent trade to buy $40 worth of parts rather than a new $400 microwave. One nit - Kenmore puts a screw in the back that...

A direct-replacement circulating motor that moves air inside the refrigerator cabinet to help maintain even temperatures and consistent cooling. Replacing a worn motor restores airflow and can reduce warm spots and uneven cooling. What it does:
- Drives internal airflow to distribute cold air between compartments for more uniform temperatures.
- Restores circulation when a failed motor causes weak or no airflow.
- Common, safe-to-report symptoms: uneven cooling, warm spots in the fridge, the appliance running more than usual, or unusual humming/noise from the cabinet.
- Works with the appliance's wiring harness and mounting system to deliver continuous air movement while the cooling system runs.
What's included: One circulating motor. Install notes:
- Always unplug the appliance before beginning service to avoid electric shock.
- Handle the motor and fan blades carefully to avoid bending or damage; keep fingers and tools clear of blades.
- Confirm correct connector orientation and secure mounting to prevent vibration or rubbing.
- After installing, power up briefly to verify the motor runs and the fan spins freely before reassembling panels.

Kitchenaid microwave plate stopped turning Joan N. • Portland , OR • October 16, 2016
Turned the microwave on its back. Took a hammer and screwdriver to punch out the small access door for the motor, unscrewed two screws holding the motor and unplugged the the wiring harness. Attached the new motor with the two screws and plugged the wiring harness back on.
Finally, attach the access door with the screw.
It took longer to punch out the access door than to actually install the motor.

Glass fell out of its retainers and plastic clips holding the frame assembly to the door broke off Steve C. • Caledonia , WI • September 23, 2015
Careful placement of new screws into the inside of the outer door that now hold the frame assembly to the door secured the frame assembly to the outer door. All of the other parts I bought and replaced were a waste of money. I figured since I had them I might as well install them anyways. Easier than sending them back since I had the whole thing apart anyways. The part I really needed was no longer available, the outside door. The glass reinstalled into the retainers in the door without a...
