My refrigerator developed a leak in the water line that serves the ice maker and cold water dispenser John M. • Walkersville , MD • November 24, 2014
I replaced the solenoid valve and trimmed a small amount of the tubing that serves the ice maker and water dispenser. The only problem was there is almost NO slack in that tubing. If you trim more than a half inch off, you won't have enough tubing to connect it on both ends.

The Water Line is an OEM part for LG refrigerators, designed to supply water to the ice maker and water dispenser. Made from durable materials to withstand water pressure and prevent leaks, this water line is essential for access to clean, filtered water at all times. Note: color of the water tube may be different from original. Tube is 5/16" diameter
Symptoms of a bad Water Line include:
- Leaking of water at the connection points or along the tubing.
- A noticeable decrease in water flow to the dispenser or ice maker.
- A bad taste or odor of the water and ice
Causes of failure can range from physical damage, such as kinks or punctures, to wear and tear over time leading to brittleness or weakening of the material. These issues can compromise the integrity of the water supply, affecting both the quality and safety of the water and ice provided by your refrigerator.
This OEM LG part can also be used on Kenmore/Sears appliances.

Split/leaking water line on my lg refrigerator Craig L. • Collinsville , TX • July 27, 2014
Removed the old line and replaced with the new. This is the sixth time I've replaced the line. Yes you read that right, the sixth time. Lines fail about every 6-8 months so I can change one out now in about 10-15 minutes. Bought the refrigerator in Feb '09 and the line first failed in March 2012. Since then I've had failures in as little as 4 months to as much as 9 months. Frustrating to say the least, but I'm a whiz at changing out the line :-)

1. Googled "appliance replacement parts" - found two sites to consider
2. Researched parts needed via a exploded diagram - can't fix it if you can't name it.
3. AppliancePartsPros.com had the easiest diagram and after checking, the lowest price.
4. Parts showed up within a couple of days - an in-transit note was helpful.
5. The part screws in but watch out you don't break the tiny black pin holding the part on in addition to the screw. Needed JB Weld to fix that.

Slow water delivery from dispenser on door Robert G. • Baton Rouge , LA • August 16, 2015
First I replaced the filter thinking it was the problem, but that was not the case. Next was replace water supply valve at the back of the refrigerator. It was very easy. The only thing that was in question was how to get the refrigerator side line off of the existing valve. There is a plastic slide clip that you remove and pull the line out and press the line back into the port it came out of. It was a very simple project and took about 20 minutes.

The LG Refrigerator Water Filter is an OEM Replacement Part. It is designed to improve the quality of water and protect refrigerators and ice machines from sediment deposits. This NSF-Certified filter effectively reduces iron and particulates. It also preserves beneficial minerals like fluoride. The filter measures 5.6 inches high and 3.3 inches in diameter.
It is installed by removing the top shelf and pulling the old filter downward. Then turn it counter-clockwise, and replace it with the new filter aligned in a horizontal position. To ensure the best performance and the removal of trapped air and contaminants, it's recommended to flush the dispenser with 2.5 gallons of water in alternating cycles. If your model includes a water filter indicator, press and hold the Filter or Reset button for 5 seconds after installation. With a lifespan of 6 months and a 500-gallon capacity, this filter provides both quality and longevity.
