Microwave won't heat but runs normally? A failed magnetron is the likely cause. This part generates the microwaves that cook food. Moderate DIY repair.
My son told me that almost all the microwave ovens that came into the repair center he worked at, 15 years ago, had a defective magnetron. I ordered a magnetron, and sat back until one shipped. The one that came, the first time, was in a small factory cardboard box, which was in a large bubble-pak Fedex envelope; which didn't show any signs of abuse. Turntable stopped turning or making noise? This microwave motor rotates the glass tray for even heating. Easy DIY fix with basic tools in under an hour.

Glass turntable tray for microwaves. Provides a stable, food-safe rotating surface for even heating. Replace your cracked, chipped, or missing tray.
Contacted several local places, & on line. However none carried the part or made it difficult, which I realized they just didn't know how to look for the part I wanted. I contacted appliance parts, & they immediately found it & it was not as expensive as other places who did not stock it to begin with. They sent it right away, & I received it in less than 3 days. Thanks, I now know where to search, and who to recommend. Read more
