The Alumilastic Cement is an OEM part for Whirlpool appliances, typically used in refrigerators and freezers. It serves as a thermal mastic compound, designed to provide a secure and heat-conductive bond between various components, such as evaporator coils and the interior walls of the appliance.
Causes of a bad alumilastic cement can include drying out, cracking, or losing its adhesive properties over time. This can occur due to age, exposure to temperature fluctuations, or improper application. When the cement fails, it can lead to poor thermal conductivity and decreased cooling efficiency.
Symptoms of a bad alumilastic cement include:
- Reduced cooling performance
- Unusual noises from the cooling system
- Components becoming loose or detaching
- Increased energy consumption
This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Whirlpool refrigerator stopped cooling clicks and buzzes were heard every couple of minutes Chris P. • Houston , TX • May 03, 2014
Googled the symptoms and realized it was probably the Start Relay. To check, I unplugged the refrigerator, took off the back panel, and pulled the old start relay off. I shook it and it rattled, like something was broken inside. That was the sign that it did indeed need to be replaced. Looked up the part on www.appliancepartpros.com and found it. Ordered it and it was here two days later. Replaced the old one and the refrigerator started cooling again. Very easy fix that saved me calling a...

Freezer icing on backwall & not cold enough in fridge & freezer Robert Z. • Brooklyn , NY • February 18, 2017
Replaced defective freezer fan. It was a very easy job & it now works great.
Shut power & carefully defrosted all ice build up behind freezer wall on metal fins with hair dryer & towels & cleared all ice from vents to refrigerator. Nicely dried & cleaned everything. Tested freezer drain hole with very hot water to maker sure it was not clogged & backing up. Installed new fan with the original plastic blade, rubber backing & also replaced the broken air vents.

I had water on the floor infront of my fridge every morning and i didn't know where it was coming from Lance W. • Warren , MI • May 16, 2015
Well, I thought, "huh," and began to investigate. I pulled the fridge out and looked around and I couldn't really figure it out, then I looked at this thin aluminum tray that's bolted to the top of a compressor, the "Evap Tray." It looks like a one-inch deep cake pan--it was rusted and it had some pinholes in it and it was leaking. So, I looked in the phonebook at local sources and I ordered one, it was $87 + shipping. Then I was curious and I looked around on the internet and found...
