Metal support bar that mounts to the refrigerator liner to hold the crisper cover frame and glass level. Replace if broken, missing, or bent.
Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You
The bar that supports the lower glass shelf and drawers was missing Derek C. • Nashville , TN • January 11, 2015
I had to cut down the length of the bar using a Dremel so that it would fit into the channels, it was originally too wide to fit into the fridge. One thing to note, only cut it as wide as the actual fridge; you can get it into the plastic shelf structure by sliding it too much into one side, and then guiding it into the other side.

The Screw is an OEM part for Whirlpool refrigerators. This screw secures the refrigerator door hinge in place, allowing the door operates smoothly and seals properly.
Over time, screws can become loose or go missing during repairs or adjustments, which can lead to a misaligned door, compromised sealing, and increased energy consumption.
Symptoms of a bad screw include:
- The refrigerator door seems misaligned or does not close properly.
- Increased effort needed to open or close the door.
- Unusual gaps around the door seal when closed.
- The door might squeak or make other noises during operation.
This OEM Whirlpool part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper and some Kenmore models.

The Hinge-Sleeve Hole Plug is an OEM part for Whirlpool refrigerators. It is designed to cover the hinge sleeve holes on the refrigerator door, providing a finished look and protecting the internal components from dust and debris.
Common causes of a bad hinge-sleeve hole plug include physical damage during routine maintenance or accidental impacts. A missing or damaged plug can lead to exposure of internal hinge components, potentially causing further damage over time.
Symptoms of a bad hinge-sleeve hole plug include:
- Visible gaps or holes in the refrigerator door hinge area
- Accumulation of dust or debris in the hinge mechanism
- Loose or unstable refrigerator door hinges
This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

The handle on the refrigerator door was broken and needed to be replaced Richard W. • Baltimore , MD • April 12, 2015
Took off the freezer door, took off the top hinge on the refrigerator door, replaced the handle, re-installed the top hinge and the freezer door. This is a two person job - one to remove the top hinge and replace the handle, while a second person holds the refrigerator door in place. Replacing the handle was easy. The most irritating part was figuring out what parts to order. The drawing of the refrigerator door (Drawing # 4) used to figure out what parts to order was not clear. I paid $8...

No cooling and no hum from compressor when plugged in Collin H. • Quincy , WA • October 23, 2014
I suspected the start-relay and tested it due to the lint plugged condenser coils. The start-relay rattled when shook, a telling sign it is no good due to over heating. I tested the compressor terminals and compared them the results with the Tech Data Sheet found with the unit, to find my compressor was still good. I checked the start capacitor with a capacitor tester, comparing the results with the rating printed on the side of the capacitor and found it to be good. I cleaned the condenser...
