Excessive vibration during spin cycle Jackie H. • Dunbar , WV • September 10, 2018
This was the second attempt at fixing this problem. The first repair and parts were generated by listing the problem and reviewing the potential corrections, listed on the web site. From making repairs on other clothes washers, I was confident that some of those potential causes could have been the cause. Unfortunately the counterbalance spring and suspension springs were not the cause as they were attached as intended and in good condition.

This retainer ring is a genuine OEM replacement part sourced directly from the manufacturer for use on front load washing machines to hold the boot seal in place. The boot seal is the gasket that seals the washing machine when the door is closed to prevent water from leaking. The retainer ring is located flush against the boot seal and has either a spring clamp or screw clamp that secures it. Over time, this ring may become damaged due to the washing machine's normal use and age. If the ring is not tight, the washing machine could leak when in use. If water is coming from the door, it is a good idea to inspect and replace the retainer ring and possibly the boot as well.Unplug the washing machine to prevent electrocution. Remove the front panel, the detergent dispenser, and the kickplate to access the retainer ring. Locate the clamp on the ring and loosen it. Remove the retainer ring and set it to the side. Inspect the boot and then install the new retainer ring. Tighten the clamp and reassemble the washing machine. This retainer ring is sold as an individual unit. It is designed specifically for washing machines manufactured by Whirlpool.

Washer would agitate but would not go into high spin sounded like spin was working though Mario M. • Corona , CA • January 03, 2015
Im not a repairman, so all my knowledge to fix my washer came from either youtube or online chats. I posted this to help the next dad trying to save a few bucks.
Door sensor...
Since door sensor worked correctly, verified that by starting washer with door open, and agitate cycle would not start until door was closed. Meaning door sensor worked correctly.
Timer...
In high spin cycle washer sounded correcltly spinning, but when opening door, drum was was not moving. So timer was triggering...

Agitator wasnt sloshing Paige B. • Clarksville , TN • January 30, 2015
I looked inside and saw the teeth were worn off the "dogs" so I purchased the Cam Agitator repair kit and a new bolt. Getting the old bolt out was the hardest part since it was worn and rusted. I ended up having to buy a set of socket extensions and a set of stripped bolt sockets so $45 in tools and it took me an hour to get the old bolt out but putting everything back together was a breeze. I was very proud of myself, as a woman, that I fixed this problem myself and didnt have to pay a repair...

This hose clamp secures a hose connection to prevent leaks and keep your appliance running smoothly. It provides a tight, reliable hold on the hose fitting so water or air stays contained during operation.
- Tightens around a hose and fitting to maintain a secure seal
- Helps stop drips, seepage, or loose connections
- Common fix when you see moisture around a hose joint
- Useful if a clamp is rusted, stretched, or no longer holding tension
What's included: One hose clamp. Install notes:
- Unplug power and shut off water (if applicable) before servicing
- Note clamp position/orientation before removal
- Use appropriate screwdriver or nut driver to tighten evenly
- Do not overtighten—ensure a snug, leak-free seal without damaging the hose

Washer was "dead" with a partially washed load and would not do anything Jimmy M. • Hopewell , VA • September 19, 2014
Researched this kenmore washer on-line and found the problem to be the lid switch. Saw a diagram on how to jump this switch by connecting a wire to both outside wires on the harness and voila! It worked! This is not a fix but it allowed me to finish the load of unwashed clothes and told me which part was bad (do not run washer jumped like this.......fire hazard!)
Ordered the lid switch and it was an easy repair. A $14.00 switch was a lot cheaper than a $450.00 washer. Thanks appliance parts...

Shaking / very unbalanced during spin cycle Dale B. • Geneseo , IL • June 11, 2017
Watched your videos on repairing different parts of the washer such as, the tub, agitator, tub balance springs. The problem was found when I removed the agitator. The neck of the tub was almost totally rusted through. Had I had a spanner wrench it would have been a lot easier. Several sprays with GP Blaster penetrating oil helped loosen the nut but punch and hammer damaged the nut to where I didn't want to reuse it. Next problem was getting the basket drive block and tub loose from the gearbox...

A broken lid switch on my whirlpool stackable twin washer Joseph P. • Indialantic , FL • October 25, 2016
Fixing the problem was quite simple. First, I removed the lid assembly (thanks to the diagrams supplied by AppliancePartsPros.com!). Getting the back two screws out was very difficult because I couldn't see them from the front and I could not move the unit out of the enclosed space. After some trial and error, I located the screws which were 5/16 hex head screws and removed them with a MAGNETIC nut driver. (The magnet assures that the screw will not drop down into the mechanism). Second, I...
