No spin every thing else worked made high speed ticking noise Anthony D. • Follansbee , WV • May 12, 2015
First I looked at the many you tube vids, and there are many. appliance parts pros pretty much shows you how to deal with the parts. I changed the brake shoes and the clutch assembly which also comes with the driver cam. I also changed the metal brake operating cam. I think that brake lockup or improper brake release was the problem that broke the plastic cam driver. This was the broken plastic part making all the ticking noise. I first changed the coupling on the motor but that wasn't bad. in...

A broken lid switch on my whirlpool stackable twin washer Joseph P. • Indialantic , FL • October 25, 2016
Fixing the problem was quite simple. First, I removed the lid assembly (thanks to the diagrams supplied by AppliancePartsPros.com!). Getting the back two screws out was very difficult because I couldn't see them from the front and I could not move the unit out of the enclosed space. After some trial and error, I located the screws which were 5/16 hex head screws and removed them with a MAGNETIC nut driver. (The magnet assures that the screw will not drop down into the mechanism). Second, I...

Broken lid switch Ari G. • State College , PA • June 01, 2015
Watched on line Video.
Only problem was in disconnecting wire "bus" connector from switch. I was unable to
remove connector without damaging it. I "jumped" connector to prove switch was faulty. This also allowed my wife to continue to do laundry while part arrived. I ordered a 3 circuit connector, but this was not the correct part. I ended up removing 3 wires from old broken connector and attaching them to new switch without a connector. Electrical tape did the trick. Not perfect...

This mechanical cycle timer controls the sequence and duration of washer operations. Replacing a failing timer restores proper advancement through fill, agitate, drain, and spin so cycles complete reliably with accurate timing. What it does:
- Advances the washer through each step by routing power to the water valves, motor, and drain pump at the correct times
- Sets the length of each stage for consistent operation
- Common failure signs: cycle won't advance or stops mid-cycle
- Timer knob doesn't move or must be jiggled to run
- Skips functions (no agitate, drain, or spin) while others still work
What's included:
- 1 mechanical timer assembly
Install notes:
- Disconnect power before servicing; access the timer from the control console
- Take photos or label wires; transfer them to the new timer one at a time to maintain correct positions
- Reuse the existing knob and dial; align the timer shaft properly and secure the mounting screws
- After reassembly, run a short test cycle to ensure proper advancement

Whirlpool Cabrio displayed lf would not complete a wash cycle. Brandy H. • Colorado Springs , CO • August 25, 2020
Purchased water inlet valve and new hot and cold water hoses. Unscrewed about 5 screws that were holding the top of the washer in place then slide the top forward and up. Released the control top it popped off no screws. Disconnected the wires attached and unscrewed 2 screws holding the valve in place the popped that off. Popped in a new valve and repeated the process in reverse. Boom done! Very simple works like new!

This clutch spring cap retains and protects the clutch spring in your washer's drive/clutch assembly, maintaining proper tension. Replacing a worn or missing cap helps the clutch engage smoothly and reduces slipping and noise during spin.
- Secures the clutch spring within the clutch assembly to prevent movement or dislodging
- Maintains correct spring preload for consistent clutch engagement
- Can help reduce clutch slip that appears as weak/no spin, slow spin ramp-up, or intermittent spinning
- Common signs of trouble: rattling or scraping near the drive, burning smell, or a visibly damaged/missing cap
What's included: 1 clutch spring cap Install notes:
- Unplug the appliance and shut off water before servicing
- Access the clutch per your model's service procedure; removing the gearcase/transmission and clutch may be required
- Carefully relieve spring tension and note the orientation of the spring and cap before removal
- Inspect the spring, clutch lining, and related hardware; replace any worn components during reassembly

Whirlpool shaking Willy P. • Victorville , CA • May 19, 2019
Weekend laundry became very noisy, our 1987 Whirlpool washer began doing a dance across the floor and the drum was banging into the inner cabinet. After doing some research and watching a few videos on Appliance parts pros website. I inspected the washer and noticed one leg the rubber coating disintegrated, decided to change all four legs, springs and lid switch. Hardest part of the job is getting the cabinet together. Ops check good.
