This small hardware washer is used as a spacer and load distributor within the specified assembly. It helps maintain alignment and smooth operation by reducing friction and restoring a secure fit when the original washer is worn or missing. What it does:
- Distributes load under a screw or bolt to keep joints secure
- Maintains proper spacing and alignment between mating parts
- Reduces friction and wear at the contact surface
- Replace if missing, bent, cracked, or excessively worn; clues include wobbly parts or scraping/squeaking noises
What's included:
Install notes:
- Disconnect power and shut off water supply before servicing
- Refer to your model's parts diagram for exact location and stack order
- Clean mating surfaces; replace any damaged fasteners or bushings
- Tighten hardware evenly and do not overtighten

Washing machine would not agitate or spin. Laurie W. • Webster , NH • March 25, 2017
We were a bit doubtful that we could find parts for this Whirlpool washing machine as it is 22 years old. We were SO pleased that not only could we find them ( with excellent customer service) but they were shipped in an appropriate time. My handy husband was then able to repair it himself :)

Washer was "dead" with a partially washed load and would not do anything Jimmy M. • Hopewell , VA • September 19, 2014
Researched this kenmore washer on-line and found the problem to be the lid switch. Saw a diagram on how to jump this switch by connecting a wire to both outside wires on the harness and voila! It worked! This is not a fix but it allowed me to finish the load of unwashed clothes and told me which part was bad (do not run washer jumped like this.......fire hazard!)
Ordered the lid switch and it was an easy repair. A $14.00 switch was a lot cheaper than a $450.00 washer. Thanks appliance parts...
