The Door Seal is an OEM component specifically designed for Whirlpool dryers. It works to create an airtight seal between the dryer door opening and drum interior. During operation, heated air and moisture are contained within the drum thanks to this crucial seal.
Symptoms of a worn door seal include:
- Increased drying time due to air leaks
- Clothes not drying completely before end of cycle
- Excess humidity escaping into home
- Discoloration or residue buildup on door glass
Causes of failure are normal wear and compression over extended use, or damage from improper door closure. A worn seal degrades efficiency and performance of the dryer.
This OEM Whirlpool part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

My problem was not an appliance; it was a harvest gold bath tab we had patched a crack in the bottom of the tub and it left a big ugly brown spot Deborah N. • Georgetown , SC • July 17, 2014
I ordered harvest gold touch-up paint and painted over the area. So far, the paint staying and I think it looks fine. This surely beats replacing the whole tub!

Kenmore dryer would not run Bruce K. • Severna Park , MD • September 24, 2014
Replaced the Timer. The old timer (not me!) had a contact pad fall off on the W contact, which caused the problem - but I had to destroy the old timer to know that. To diagnose the problem, I took voltage readings on all the contacts of the timer in the"on" position. The W contact never had a voltage, so the motor never turned on. With this diagnosis, I was pretty sure that the timer was bad and proceeded to take it apart to confirm it. Dryer is working fine - 28 years old and works great.

The lever to turn on dryer was broken the handle was broken and the latch was broken David R. • Jemison , AL • February 09, 2015
I opened the top of the dryer (after watching the video on your website) and replaced the lever on the switch. Removed two screws near the lint filter, used a putty knife to release fasteners under the top and raised the top. Held it in place with a short piece of board then removed the two screws holding in the switch and lever. Replaced the broken lever with the new one and put it all back together. The handle was a little more difficult as it took a lot more prying with a screwdriver to...
