The previous tenant in my daughter's new apartment apparently had a grease fire of sorts in the GE XL44 gas oven. This left the insulating double glass panes so fouled up that one could not see into the oven. I removed the oven door (just lifts off the hinges) and proceeded to disassemble the door so as to get to the glass panes.
