After discussing the matter with Robin on Thursday night to ensure we were doing the right thing, we ordered the part Friday afternoon, it arrived Saturday morning, and my husband installed the new timer/clock unit before I got home from lunch. After 20 years of flawless service my gas range needed repair: the thermostat. I viewed GE's DYI repair video. Its a very easy repair that should have taken 20 minutes but it took us forever because we couldn't get the oven sensor to snake into the oven chamber. The angle was too acute. Eventually we figured out a solution.
(also we proceeded a bit slow because we're not used to doing repairs. took pics along the way so we didn't forget what goes where)
