Replaced the defrost heater and thermostat. Removed the back panel in the freezer. Defrosted coils with a hair blow dryer. Removed defective unit and installed new replacement. Refer is back to normal operation. Took more time to defrost than to remove and install heating unit.

This is in a 15 year old Built-in Monogram that had the compressor replaced a few years ago. Before discovering the motor failure I replaced the main board since a Refrigeration Contractor I know said that if it wasn't bad it would be soon since those parts typically only last around eight years.
