Replaced original (18 yrs.) 1/4" plastic tubing, clamp and grommet (AppliancePartsPros/GE parts) from outlet of ice maker water control valve to ice maker inlet. Also replaced water supply line to inlet of water control valve with new, GE braided, PEX 1/4" supply line with pre-attached female compression fittings on both ends. Ice storage bin holds and stores ice produced by the refrigerator's ice maker so cubes are ready for dispensing and stay contained. Replaces cracked, broken, or missing bins to restore normal ice storage and delivery. What it does:
- Collects and stores ice made by the ice maker so cubes are available for dispensing.
- Guides ice toward the dispenser/auger area and helps prevent ice from spilling into the freezer.
- Restores proper ice containment when the original bin is cracked, warped, or missing.
- Helps reduce ice clumping and jams caused by broken or misaligned storage containers.
What's included: One ice storage bin. Install notes:
- Disconnect power to the refrigerator before removing or installing the ice bin.
- Remove shelves or drawer(s) as needed for access; lift out the old bin carefully to avoid damaging the ice maker or dispenser components.
- Align tabs and guides on the new bin and slide into place without forcing; listen for the bin to seat properly.
- After installation, restore power and run the ice maker/dispenser through a test cycle; discard the first batch of ice after reinstallation.
