This recess heater was a last resort 'nuclear' option that I never employed. First repair was to replace the solenoid that keeps the little door from staying open and letting room air back up it. Also replaced the gaskets around both doors which allowed the freezer and fridge sides to stay at the right temp. That seems to have done the trick. Replaced defrost timer and also changed out the condenser fan motor. All told it took 30 mins for both. Read more
