I took the ice bucket out and saw the Plate and the Auger were rusted out I thought about cleaning it but I figured that the rust prevent coating was probability all gone I've had this refrigerator since 98 , so I figured the best way was to buy the replacement parts . the price was pretty good so I went that route , the taking apart was very easy , its the putting back together that takes time , however I took a video of the bucket before I took it apart and the on-line video that...

Slide assembly left and right both were broken. Robert L. • Daytona Beach , FL • November 12, 2017
Ordered the parts and in a couple of days they arrived. A simple Philips screw driver was all that was needed to complete the install. Very simple, not complicated. You don't need to order the slide bushings as the slide assy. has them installed from the factory.

Clogged drain tube Keith P. • Ivoryton , CT • March 03, 2017
Swapped it out for new tube. Take 5 minutes and zero effort. The drain tube will clog with mold. You can clean it out but the tube will clog again despite's you best efforts as the tube wall provide a great habitat. Ordered new tubes to facilitate swap-outs. Old tubes can be cleaned but will recolonize quickly.

This replacement part is an ice dispenser deflector, and it is intended for use in different types of appliances. This is a genuine replacement part made by General Electric. Ice dispenser deflectors are found inside of the ice-making assembly and are an important part of many freezers. The ice dispenser deflector allows the ice to come down from the tray into the dispensing area. A new ice dispenser deflector might be needed if the current one has become too brittle and has even cracked or broken. Be sure that the refrigerator is completely powered off before starting this repair. The user must have access to the ice maker assembly and will need common household tools like a screwdriver and pliers. The user might also need working gloves as some parts in and around the assembly have sharp edges or blades.Note that this part is sold individually. This ice dispenser deflector is sourced directly from the manufacturer and is a genuine OEM replacement part.

The refrigerator door stop was bent to the point that it would no longer keep the door from swinging into the adjacent pantry door Robert C. • Tucson , AZ • April 26, 2014
I replaced the door stop. Fortunately, I did NOT follow the advice on your Questions and Answers discussion and remove the door to do this:
"You will need to remove the door hinge cover and hinge from the top of the door. Then lift and remove the door from the refrigerator. Lay the door on a soft surface and remove the screws holding the door stop WR2X9302 in place. Reinstall in reverse order."
The two screws are fairly easy to remove with a socket wrench with the door in place.

Icemaker would not stop making ice Henry T. • Huntersville , NC • November 23, 2014
Determined from the schematic on the inside of the cover of the icemaker that the likely problem was the "stop" micro switch.... Took the whole thing apart and confirmed the switch was defective.
Replaced it with a standard DPDT switch - for a temporary fix. Went on line to find replacement. Bought it from APP Parts Pros. replaced DPDT switch with micro.. all is well.... saved at least $150 by not having a repair person come to the house - felling good about this.....
