I ordered 2 new gaskets, one for the freezer and another for the refrigerator. These arrived within a few days. I soaked both in the bathtub filled with hot water for about 20 minutes. My grandson installed both gaskets without any trouble. I duck taped on the freezer door to allow it to 'seep' with the cold air inside the freezer unit as I was told this would help make a better seal. Determined from the schematic on the inside of the cover of the icemaker that the likely problem was the "stop" micro switch.... Took the whole thing apart and confirmed the switch was defective. Replaced it with a standard DPDT switch - for a temporary fix. Went on line to find replacement. Bought it from APP Parts Pros. replaced DPDT switch with micro.. all is well.... saved at least $150 by not having a repair person come to the house - felling good about this..... Read more

This was a very easy repair, the on-line video at AppliancePartsPros.com was helpful. The Helix was spinning freely (meaning, the Auger Blade was not holding it in place on the Auger). Pulling the assembly apart was a snap, and very logical (the video is perfect if you get lost). The family is now enjoying both crushed and cubed ice - and the redesign of the Auger Blade seems to prevent clogging in the ice shoot. Read more
